AI governance consulting for UK businesses

Practical help to set rules for how your staff use AI: a readiness review, an AI policy and risk checks.

The short answer

AI governance consulting helps a business control how it uses AI. AI governance is the set of rules, checks and responsibilities for AI use. It covers what staff may do, which data they may use and who answers for the result. Zemash Ltd offers AI governance consulting to UK businesses, with a readiness review, an AI policy and risk checks.

Policy

What should an AI policy cover?

A useful AI policy is short. It names the tools staff may use and the data they must never enter. It also names who approves new uses. It says what to do when something goes wrong.

In the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office publishes guidance on artificial intelligence and data protection. The ICO says the guidance is under review because of the Data (Use and Access) Act. Check it for updates.

Questions

AI governance questions

AI governance is the rules, checks and responsibilities that control how a business uses AI.

If your staff use AI tools, yes. A short policy protects your data and sets clear limits. It does not need to be long.

They review how AI is used, list the risks, and help you write a policy and a risk register your team can follow.

It depends on the size of the business and how widely AI is already used. We confirm the timing on the call.

Data protection law applies when AI handles personal data. The ICO’s guidance on artificial intelligence is the place to start. This is not legal advice.

A named person, usually a director or senior manager, should approve new uses of AI and keep the policy up to date.
